My face cosmetics: my mix foundation

Monday, 24 September 2012

I feel that my mission in life is to find the perfect foundation. I must of tired hundreds of them. But I never seem to find 'the one'! So my adventure continued and I bought this foundation to try. What I really like about this foundation is the shade range. It has different shades of light, medium and dark, so you can really try to find one to suit your skin tone! I'm very pale, a Mac NC15, but I chose fair 02, which is more warmer than my an NC15 but actually works well for me. I find that this foundation really adapts to my skin tone and blends in so well!

I would say this provided medium buildable coverage and left a lovely dewy, but not that 'over the top' dewy finish to my skin. It makes me look healthy, natural and awake and feels really light on the skin! However, as always, the one thing that lets me down with foundations is the lasting time! I find that this doesn't last all that long to be honest, baring in mind I have oily skin! I've nearly used this up and I don't think a re-purchase will happen because I'm still on the hunt for the foundation that just won't budge!

Please can you recommend me any super long lasting foundations?

  1. I swear by double wear for lasting power. Seriously a full days work and all I need is a little touch up on my chin (I'm a chin toucher!) and I look flawless again. Although it is heavy it controls shine so well and I have super oily skin! I find if you use a good blending brush and little product it works absolute wonders. Its dear at £27.50 but they give really generous sample pots so I would defo suggest picking one up :)

    1. i don't mind heavy foundations, if anything i sometimes prefur them! i've used double wear years ago but never repurchased it because i couldn't justify price, i guess it's time to re-invest :) thanks for your recommendation x

  2. I've been using Clarins Ever Matte for the past month and I'm due to buy another one! Its the only one that lasts me a full day at work. I have mega oily skin so foundation shopping is a right pain. You should stop by and pick up some samples. I think its about £24 but Id rather pay the price for the quality.

  6. I have the same problem with foundation but I started using the Revlon Colorstay for combination/oily skin a couple of weeks ago and it lasts all day on my skin, which is better than any other foundation I've tried. It also has shades for paler girls :)

  7. Oooh I got colour matched at No7 the other day & I'm the palest shade, I was dubious but it matches my skin perfect! I've had a sample of the stay perfect and essentially natural as I can't make up my mind on the finishes but they do a couple suited to oily skin so I suggest try those! :D\
Also, I've wanted to try the my face foundation but they don't sell it in my boots anymore :(

  9. I heard so much about this foundation, I'm currently on a hunt for longer lasting foundation. I'm using Double Wear and it does last for good 10 hours on my oily skin. I would also recommend the lighter version of Double Wear if you want lighter coverage. xo
